Walsh Jesuit’s reputation for academic excellence reflects a Jesuit emphasis on scholastic achievement. COURSE OF STUDIES

Walsh Jesuit operates on the semester system. The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m. Classes meet for 40 minutes each day. Students are required to take a minimum of six major courses and perform a minimum of 85 hours of Christian service to graduate.
Students are not ranked by cumulative averages relative to their classmates. No weighted points are assigned to grades below 77 in weighted courses. First Honors Achievement Level is a 3.75 weighted average, and Second Honors Achivement Level is a 3.30 weighted average.
 
Walsh Jesuit offers college level courses through the Advanced Placement Program and through the Jesuit Virtual Learning Academy. Enrollment in all Advanced Placement courses is through academic performance, testing, and teacher recommendations. All students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses are required to take the College Board AP final exam. School policy limits students to a maximum of 3 AP courses each semester. During the 2014 - 2015 school year 317 students in grades in 10-12, took 574 exams.

HONORS SUMMARY

Walsh Jesuit offers 19 Honors Courses. The pace of Honors Courses is faster and the curriculum is more in-depth. Enrollment is through academic performance, placement exams, interviews, and teacher recommendations. The multiplier used to determine the weighted GPA in all Honors Courses is +.25.

Summer '17 Physical Education (PE) for Incoming Freshmen

The dates for Incoming Freshmen Summer Physical Education Classes are as follows:
Session I    June 5 through June 9 AND June 12 through June 16  1-4pm each day
Session II   July 17 through July 21 AND July 24 through July 28   8-11am each day
Cost per student is $200.  Attendance at all classes is mandatory in order to receive credit.  
Additional spots have been opened to accommodate all who are interested.  Summer PE is optional.

AP COURSES
