In our Warrior for a Day program, 7th and 8th graders are paired with a current WJ student for an immersive shadow experience. From 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you’ll explore our 110-acre campus, visit classes, and meet students, teachers, coaches and moderators who make Walsh Jesuit such a special place!
You’ll also enjoy lunch in our Taste Café, which offers a variety of delicious options for all dietary needs!
Parents are invited to take part in their own tour during the visit, offering a firsthand look at what makes our community unique.
Attire: Polo or collared shirt with dress pants (no jeans or cargo pants).
The initial step for an eighth-grade student wishing to apply to Walsh Jesuit High School is to take an entrance exam. Walsh Jesuit uses an exam called the HSPT (High School Placement Test) as part of the admissions process.
8th grade students may register online for one of the available test dates in the fall. There is a $20 exam fee, payable on the day of the test. Pencils will be provided to students. Calculators are not permitted for this exam.
A parent information session will take place simultaneously at 9:00 a.m. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the admissions information program. Topics that will be discussed include: tuition assistance, admissions timeline and application process, 9th grade curriculum, and school mission and heritage.
This may be your student's first experience with standardized testing that has consequences to his/her performance. During this course students will learn important guessing and time management strategies as well as content review and how to manage common test anxiety. Additionally, students will receive a 600 page HSPT test taking manual, HSPT practice test and helpful study guides. There is a $60 fee for this class. The Prep Course will take place on September 27 from 9am-12pm. Please bring cash or a check payable to Rose-Marie Janesz. Please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@walshjesuit.org with any questions you may have.
