The Walsh Jesuit women’s swimming team finished fifth out of 15 teams at OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament held at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium on Saturday, February 10. This is the first qualifying meet on the road to the State Championship Meet to be held in Canton on February 21 through 24.
Based upon their performances at the Sectional meet, seven Warriors move on to represent Walsh Jesuit at the OHSAA District Championships at Cleveland State University’s Busby Natatorium on February 17.
District qualifiers in individual events include: seniors Alexa Mark (50 yard freestyle) and Bryanna Renuart (200 yard individual medley and 100 yard breaststroke), juniors Kathryn Coughlin (50 yard freestyle), and Samantha Moore (500 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke), and sophomores Maddie Draiss (200 yard individual medley and 100 yard butterfly) and Mia Telerico (200 yard individual medley and 100 yard butterfly). The 200 yard medley relay and the 200 and 400 yard freestyle relays also qualified for District competition.
