Warrior Men Set Three Pool Records in Loss to Host Medina

Setting three Medina Recreational Center pool records was not enough to ensure a victory over Medina High School on January 26 as the men’s swimming team recorded their only dual meet loss of the season, falling 93-87.
Freshman Kaden Smesko led the way with two new pool records in the 100-yard backstroke (52.88) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:53.55.) In addition, Smeko joined juniors Adam Lenz, Richie Kurlich, and Andrew Kurlich in setting a new pool record in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:19.30.)
Other first place finishes for the men included Richie Kurlich, 200-yard individual medley (1:59.29) and 100-yard freestyle (48.79), Andrew Kurlich, 100-yard butterfly (55.87) and the 200-yard medley relay team of Smesko, R. Kurlich, Anthony Telerico, and Lenz (1:42.68.)
