Warriors Win Barberton Invitational

The Walsh Jesuit men’s swim team finished first at the 10-team Barberton Invitational held Saturday, January 21 at the Ocasek Natatorium.
Richie Kurlich and Kaden Smesko each won two individual events, Kurlich finished first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.24) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.72.) Smesko won the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.26) and 100-yard backstroke (53.14). Other first place finishes for the men included Adam Lenz, 500-yard freestyle (5:07.58), the 200-yard medley relay of Smesko, R. Kurlich, Anthony Telerico, and Lenz (1:41.81), the 200-yard freestyle relay of Andrew Kurlich, Michael Marhofer, A. Telerico, and Lenz (1:33.08), and the 400-yard freestyle relay of Smesko, R. Kurlich, A. Kurlich, and Jacob Crissman (3:27.01).
 
Swimmers and relays finishing in the top eight places in each event scored points and included: 200 medley relay - 1. (Smesko, R. Kurlich, A. Telerico, Lenz), 1:41.81. 200 freestyle - 1.
