Walsh Jesuit Women's Swimming Fourth at Northeast Classic
The Walsh Jesuit women’s swim team finished fourth at the Northeast Classic Invitational held January 14. Over 50 of the top high school swimming teams from around Ohio competed in the meet.
Preliminaries were held in the morning at Ocasek Natatorium in Akron and Branin Natatorium in Canton. The top 24 swimmers and 16 relays from the merged results from the two prelim sites competed in the finals that evening at Branin.
In the 100 yard breaststroke, senior Carly Hart finished first setting a new meet record of 1:02.55, breaking the record set by teammate Hanna Gresser during the morning prelims. Gresser finished second in the event with a 1:03.31.
Other top finishes by the Warriors included: 200 yard medley relay - 2. (Gresser, Hart, Emma Kaczmar, Bryanna Renuart), 1:47.46. 200 freestyle - 19. Maddy Draiss, 1:57.39. 200 individual medley - 1. Gresser, 2:06.23, 6. Hart, 2:09.11, 7. Giovanna Cappabianca, 2:10.17, 20. Bryanna Renuart, 2:13.01. 100 butterfly - 11. Cappabianca, 59.20; 400 freestyle relay - 3. (Gresser, Hart, Maddy Draiss, Renuart), 3:34.47.
