Walsh Jesuit Focuses on Being More Green
Last month Walsh Jesuit joined the Institutional-Level Ignatian Carbon Challenge, an initiative focused on making Walsh Jesuit a more sustainable and "green" school and raising awareness on environmental issues through a series of 12 challenges.
Walsh Jesuit has installed two water bottle filling stations on our drinking fountains: one in the commons and one on the second floor.
Walsh Jesuit has installed two water bottle filling stations on our drinking fountains: one in the commons and one on the second floor.
This initiative will help reduce Walsh's use of disposable plastic bottles and promote reusable bottles. Very frequently plastic bottles are thrown away and not recycled, which causes them to sit in landfills and almost never decompose. Plastic bottles also produce tons of pollution and greenhouse gases (which are changing our planet's climate), because they are made of oil.
