The women’s team lost to Medina High School by a score of 123.5-175.5 on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Medina High School.
Freshman Julia Quernemoen led the scoring, placing first in both of her individual events, including the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke. Freshman Hanna Goodrich placed first the 100 yard butterfly and second in the 100 yard backstroke. Senior Sophia Mercurio took second in the 100 yard freestyle and third in the 50 yard freestyle. Senior Carra Croucher placed second and third, respectively, in the 50 & 100 yard freestyle. Sophomore Ava Speelman placed second in the 100 breaststroke, while Junior Natalie Schober placed third in 500 yard freestyle. In the diving competition, Junior Mackenzie Cook placed first while Sophomore Olivia Nemec tied for second place.
The relay team of Quernemoen, Speelman, Goodrich and Mercurio placed first in 200 yard medley relay. Placing second in the 200 yard freestyle relay was the team of Sophomore Netti D’Angelo, Freshman Bella Catalano, Croucher, and Sophomore Alexis Steward. The team of Goodrich, Mercurio, Croucher, and Quernemoen took second in the 400 freestyle relay.
