Walsh Jesuit students and alumni participated in the Jesuit Day of Service this past Saturday, April 27.
This year, volunteers gathered at St. Anthony School in Akron to help establish a soccer field adjacent to the school. Collectively, the group put together a storage shed, stained picnic tables, assembled benches, put together a basketball hoop, prepared a garden bed, set-up soccer nets, reseeded the field and painted a hopscotch and four-square area on the asphalt.
NE Ohio Jesuit Day of Service, a day when all regional Jesuit High Schools and Colleges commit to making a positive impact on their local communities. “It was truly a great day and a wonderful opportunity for our community to demonstrate what being “men and woman, for and with others,” is all about,” said Walsh Jesuit Alumni Director, Kevin Byrne ’92.
