Jesuit Day of Service

Walsh Jesuit students and alumni participated in the Jesuit Day of Service this past Saturday, April 27.
This year, volunteers gathered at St. Anthony School in Akron to help establish a soccer field adjacent to the school. Collectively, the group put together a storage shed, stained picnic tables, assembled benches, put together a basketball hoop, prepared a garden bed, set-up soccer nets, reseeded the field and painted a hopscotch and four-square area on the asphalt.

NE Ohio Jesuit Day of Service, a day when all regional Jesuit High Schools and Colleges commit to making a positive impact on their local communities. “It was truly a great day and a wonderful opportunity for our community to demonstrate what being “men and woman, for and with others,” is all about,” said Walsh Jesuit Alumni Director, Kevin Byrne ’92.

Inspired by the spirit of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, ten Cleveland institutions were united in serving our local communities in Northeast Ohio including:
Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeast Ohio
Gesu Parish
Ignatian Solidarity Network
