Henry Kaczmar Commits to University of Michigan

Walsh Jesuit Freshman Henry Kaczmar Commits to
University of Michigan
 
CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH April 1, 2019 —Walsh Jesuit freshman, Henry Kaczmar has made a commitment to continue his academic and athletic career as a Wolverine for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Michigan. He will play for the school’s NCAA Division I baseball program under Head Baseball Coach, Erik Bakich.
 
“Henry Kaczmar’s experience with Walsh Jesuit baseball is certainly unique and we are incredibly excited for him that it is starting in such a positive way. Growing up in the program, learning from and looking up to older players from a young age, Henry has learned what it takes to be successful as a baseball player, a leader and a person. He has taken what he has experienced and worked incredibly hard to transform himself into who he is today. Henry is hard-working, smart, mature, humble, a strong leader on and off the field and is constantly working to make himself and those around him better,” said Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach, Michael Palange. 
 
“It was clear from the onset of meeting Coach Bakich and Coach Schnabel that their values, philosophy, family culture, character and coaching style align so closely with what Henry is seeking at the next level. My wife Beth and I couldn’t be more excited, proud, and deeply honored that Henry will be joining the University of Michigan Baseball program,” said Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Chris Kaczmar.
 
A shortstop for the Warriors, Kaczmar was selected to play for Team Ohio in the PBR Junior Future Games. Kaczmar’s commitment marks the earliest a Walsh Jesuit baseball player has committed to a collegiate program and also the first-time a Walsh Jesuit baseball player has committed to the University of Michigan.
 
“I am extremely excited to play for coach Bakich and coach Schnabel at the University of Michigan!! I want to thank both of my parents and entire family for everything they have done for me, as well as everyone who has helped me along this journey. I have four exciting years ahead of me at Walsh and I can’t wait to get things started,” said Henry Kaczmar. 
 
While a student at Walsh Jesuit, Kaczmar also volunteers at Victory Gallop, an organization that offers therapeutic and recreational rideing for children with behavioral and/or emotional challenges and life-threatening illnesses. He is the son of Chris and Beth Kaczmar of Bath, Ohio.
 
Palange added, “Henry is one of the hardest working players in our program and gained the respect of the coaches and from the rest of the team the moment he stepped on the field. Henry is everything that we hope a Walsh Jesuit baseball player can be and we know he is going to continue to grow and develop over his time in the program. We are so excited to have a player of his caliber, but more importantly a person of his caliber, as a leader in our program for the next four years!”
