Warriors Blitz Bruins 9-0

Matt Morris scored four times and Jakari Desphy earned another shutout as Walsh Jesuit blitzed Padua Franciscan 9-0 on Saturday, January 6.

Max Miotke and Steven LeVasseur each scored twice on a line that also featured the stylistic creations of Sacha Trudel.

But a scoring summary does not adequately describe the complete team effort. The Warriors consistently found a potent tactic in the third-man open in the high-slot, one of them a slick pass from the lower left circle by Geremy Davison for a Miotke score, and another a powerful one-timer by Morris as fed by Gabriel. Cook and Morris worked together in a tight space behind their own blue line on a give-n-go while blocking out fore-checkers to spring Gabriel up the ice for another goal.

Steady and solid Nick Neiger blocked shots, Easton Kindall earned an assist while blasting pucks at the net, and Jake Ambach stalled a dangerous Bruin 2-on-1 by sliding to force a shot wide. Anthony Calleri also made some noise with several scoring chances helped by Matt Lasker and Jackson Carrell, twice in the last minute which would have ended the game by mercy rule.
