Walsh Jesuit’s Kasey Anzelc Commits to John Carroll University

Walsh Jesuit senior, Kasey Anzelc has committed to continue his academic and athletic career as a Blue Streak for John Carroll University.  Anzelc will play for the school’s NCAA Division III baseball program under Head Ccoach Marc Thibeault.  Anzelc is the 3third member of the Class of 2017 Walsh Jesuit baseball team to advance to collegiate baseball.

“I have met some of the best people at Walsh and they will be lifelong friends and I feel so fortunate to have some of the best teachers and mentors at Walsh," Anzelc said. "Playing baseball for Walsh has been a great experience and I’m extremely appreciative for the sense of family I have felt with my teammates and coaches since my freshman year.”

“At Walsh Jesuit, Anzelc currently maintains a 3.85 GPA. Since grade school, Anzelc has volunteered his time at a local nonprofit organization on fund raising projects and events benefiting special needs children and their families

“I hope to continue playing the sport that I love and meet new life-long friends while getting an amazing education at JCU," noted Anzelc. "I visited many schools over the last year and I had always wanted to go south for nice weather. But when I visited John Carroll, I felt like I belonged.

"In addition, JCU is an amazing school and I feel lucky to be able to attend and be a member of the baseball team,” he finished..

“Over the course of his career, Kasey has established himself as a tremendous asset to the Walsh Jesuit baseball program,” said Chris Kaczmar, Walsh Jesuit’s head baseball coach.  “While he is a talented prospect blessed with potential, athleticism, and a strong, loose arm, he is also a very committed player who pays attention to detail, listens and learns, and works extremely hard. We are truly excited to have him back for his senior year and look forward to him making a remarkable impact this season. Kasey is loyal, honest, and takes great pride in seeking his best as a person and a player. We are thrilled about his decision to join the John Carroll program under our good friend Coach Thibeault.”

Anzelc, who intends to major in biology at John Carroll and go on to dental school to become an orthodontist, is the son of Mark and Deborah of Medina.
