NCL CHAMPS!

On a rainy and cold morning, this past weekend the Men’s cross country team participated in and won the North Coast League Championship!

Once again, Super Sophomore Luke Ondracek led the Warriors by winning the race, which means he is the NCL League Most Valuable Runner. His victory means that WJ has won this race now for four years in a row, and it is the fourth time an Ondracek has won the title. Nice job, Luke!

Kunal Jain also ran a very strong race, finishing 4th overall and earning First Team NCL Honors. Fellow Junior, Gavin McHale placed 6th and also earned First Team NCL Honors.

Junior Gavin Carr finished 9th and Senior Karios McCune finished 11th, and they both earned Second Team NCL Honors.

Noah Schlueter finished 17th and earned an Honorable Mention Award.

Despite putting five runners in the top ten places of the race, the Open Team finished second in their race. The top five finishers for the Warriors were Senior Seth Carr, Sophomores Dominic Bertoni and Joe Zakelj, Freshman Jack Bagne, and Junior Brennan Eggleston.

Next weekend, the Running Warrior will compete in the OHSSA District Meet.
