Walsh Jesuit promotes being Open to Growth through experiences such as the Christian Service program.
How to Get Involved
Walsh Jesuit students answer the call to put our faith into action through participation in the Campus Ministry service programs. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of service opportunities and connect their service experience with their faith in ever-deeper ways. Through these service ministries, students directly experience the profound truth that in giving we receive.

Prayer
- Daily Mass 7:30am: As a Christ-centered community, the Holy Eucharist animates and inspires Walsh Jesuit High School. The Walsh Jesuit Community celebrates Mass each school day at 7:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Please join us! In addition to our 7:30 a.m. Mass, we gather on holy days and special occasions for an all-school Mass celebration.

Retreats
- Urban Plunge Retreat: Students are given the opportunity to live a life of simplicity, diving deeper into the issues of poverty and hunger in our community. Site visits include the Akron Catholic Worker, The Urban Farm and participation in the Labre Project. This retreat is open to students of all grade levels.
- Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice: On November 16, 1989, six Jesuits, their housekeeper and her daughter were murdered at the Jesuit University in El Salvador. Each year, on the anniversary of their deaths, the Ignatian Solidarity Network holds this event in Washington D.C. where thousands of students from Jesuit colleges, universities, and high schools learn about issues of peace and justice.

- Sophomore Retreat: This is a mandatory class retreat for all Sophomore students which focuses on the transition from underclassmen to upperclassmen, how we can become leaders of the school and how God fits into our everyday lives. This retreat provides students with tools grow within themselves, with their fellow classmates and of course in their faith.

- Welcome to WJ Day: This is a class welcome and retreat for all freshmen, which focuses on what it means to be a student at a Jesuit High School. Students get to know fellow classmates, while also discussing opportunities to become involved in the school, their own faith life and the lives of our wonderful Jesuits.
- Freshman Hiking Retreat: A one day Hiking Retreat held for Freshman as a kick start to their Freshman year. Freshman will be embarking on a new journey, so the idea of this retreat is to reflect on their past experiences in order to prepare for their future. We do this in an outside setting, allowing us to focus on seeing God in all things.
