  • Academic Challenge/Quiz Bowl

    If you like Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit, this group is for you. Students compete in a variety of academic fields against other schools.
    Open to all students. Participates in 6 tournaments each year.  Meet on Zoom on Wednesday nights at 9:00 p.m.  During wintertime, meet after school on Wednesdays.

  • Art Club

    The purpose of this club is for students who express interest in Art & Design to make fun & unique crafts.  Open to all students who may attend meetings whenever they're able. Art club meets on Thursdays after school in the Art Annex until 3:30 p.m.

  • Chamber Choir

  • Harmony Gold Show Choir

    The Harmony Gold Show Choir features the top singers & dancers at WJ. This varsity level, auditioned group performs themed shows at competitions throughout the Midwest & takes performance trips to exciting places like Disney World, New York City & Chicago.

    By audition (all grades) in late spring and early fall. Rehearses on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and other times as needed, after school in the theater.

  • Jazz Band

    Jazz band will meet every day from 2:55-3:35 p.m. Students are not required to attend every single day if they have conflicts.

  • Photography Club

    Any student interested in exploring the art of photography, should join the Photography Club. No experience necessary – just an interest in learning more about this lifelong skill.

    Meetings every three weeks during Flex Start Wednesday (and occasional afternoon meetings) in Room 114.

  • Theatre

    The Centerstage Theater puts on a play & musical each year. The cast is selected through audition, yet the club is open to all students.  Rehearsal schedule varies per production.  

    Past shows include: Peter Pan, Footloose, Guys & Dolls, Grease, Fame, Little Shop of Horrors, Anything Goes, Dead Man Walking, Flowers For Algernon, Les Miserables, The Sound of Music & Bye Bye Birdie.

  • Warrior Corps Marching Band

    Open to all. Sign-ups will open in January for the 2024-25 season. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  We perform at the football games, pep rallies, and some parades and band shows.

  • Mock Trial

    Are you considering a career as an attorney?

    Gather first-hand experience by acting as a lawyer or witness, as you compete against other schools. This team starts September 27 and goes through January 31.

  • Student Government

    Four executive officers, four officers from each class, and homeroom representatives lead their peers in various activities and provide communication between administration and the student body.

    Elections in Q4 for rising Sophomores - Seniors, and Q1 for Freshmen. Meetings for class officers are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. in Room 103.

    French Honor Society Membership is awarded to any French student who has completed at least 3 semesters of French, has maintained an overall “A-” average in the course, and earned an “A” in the semester of induction, which occurs each Spring.

    NHS is a service organization composed of juniors & seniors who exhibit academic & social leadership in our school. A 3.75 GPA is required.

  • Jesuit Refuge Services (JRS) Team

    As Men & Women for Others during a time of crisis in this world, this club builds on the work of Jesuit Refugee Services worldwide to work on tangible ways to impact our local community.

    This club educates our community and partners with the organization ASIA Inc. to work with refugees & immigrants who have settled in our area. The club meets once per week, and all are welcomed to attend.

    The Alliance Club provides a safe space to support all students, regardless of their race, creed, beliefs, backgrounds, or identifications.

  • Labre Project

    Students can sign up (after school every Tuesday at Campus Ministry's window).  Service occurs on Mondays from 2:50 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. including the summer months.  

    After preparing a simple meal & praying, students depart to visit the homeless under bridges, next to the tracks, on street corners, and in nooks & crannies of downtown Akron, to share food & friendship with the least of our sisters & brothers, following the call and example St. Benedictine Labre.

  • The Pioneer

    Develop your writing skills as part of the school newspaper staff! Students may join in the Journalism class or as writers outside of class. Monthly announcements allow members to cover a variety of topics for articles.  

    The Pioneer is open to all. Meetings are announced via email, morning announcements, and on the club's page/social media accounts.

  • The Sketch

    The Sketch is an annual anthology of selected Walsh Jesuit students' work in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, artwork, and photography. The book, staffed by student editors, is distributed in April to all students, faculty and staff.

  • Club 95

    Club 95 meets monthly for students (and faculty/staff) who are vegetarian, vegan, or who want to eat a more plant-based diet.  We talk about healthy food options, share recipes, and try different foods. We discuss nutrition and good sources of protein, vitamin supplements, restaurants that have plant-based options, different brands to try, etc.  For those who are looking to eat less meat, Club 95 is a great place to find support.

  • Yoga Club

    Open to any student who wants to enjoy recreational yoga | Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the Month | 7:15-7:45 a.m. in Room A3.

    Participants learn how to safely practice yoga, and how yoga can help one’s overall health and wellness. The sessions are led by a certified yoga instructor.
