Luke Ondracek led the Warriors and ADVANCES to the Regional Meet!

This past weekend the Men’s cross country team participated in the OHSAA District Championship Meet at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. The Warriors ran a strong race and finished in 6th place out of 14 teams, missing qualifying to Regionals by 12 points to the 5th place team. Sophomore Luke Ondracek led the Warriors finishing in 11th place in a time of 16:32. Because he placed in the top twenty of the race, Luke will represent WJ at the Regional Meet next week in Boardman, Ohio. Nice job, Luke! Junior Gavin McHale ran a personal best of 17:06 and placed 24th. Junior Kunal Jain was close behind in 28th place. Senior Karios McCune ran his best time of 17:35 and placed 43rd for the Warriors. Junior Noah Schlueter ran his best time of the season as well. He ran a 17:46 and placed 50th to round out the scoring for the Warriors. This evening, the men’s and women’s Cross Country teams will compete in the Warrior Classic after school today on our home course. Come out and cheer for your fellow Warriors this evening.
