November 12, 2018 – Cuyahoga Falls, OH--The Walsh Jesuit High School CenterStage Theatre presents an evening of Murder/Mystery Theatre! The evening will be a live, double feature of two plays: “A Murder Has Been Renounced,” by Lee Mueller, and directed by Vincent Matia, and then the ever popular “Clue,” based off the famous board game and motion picture, written by Jonathan Lynn and directed by David Banks.
Scott Beigie, 2005 Walsh Jesuit graduate and a beloved theology teacher and counselor, met with the school’s administration and advised them that his doctors have stated that his health concerns will no longer allow him to continue as head football coach.
Kevin Byrne WJ ’92 will be the next Director of Alumni Relations. Recently hired as Walsh Jesuit Men’s Warrior Basketball team head coach, Byrne brings with him 19 years of experience in higher education coaching as well as fundraising in athletics. Read more of the full press release.
Two Walsh Jesuit seniors – Kyle Grebb and Grace Gronowski have advanced to Semifinalist status in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship competition. Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recently announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Bishop Nelson Perez celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit with the Walsh Jesuit student body this past Wednesday. Over a thousand students, faculty and staff filled the Dome in one of the most intimate Masses held at Walsh Jesuit High School. Since Bishop Perez arrived in the Cleveland Diocese a year ago, people have frequently asked him, "have you been to Walsh Jesuit yet?" Finally" I am at Walsh Jesuit" as the dome applauded him.
During our first Mission Day this past Wednesday morning, Juniors and Seniors gathered in the Chapel for a seminar on servant leadership. Students heard from Chris Kerr ’96, Executive Director of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, and from Fr. Paul O’ Connor, S.J., who commissioned this year’s Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.

Our Class of 2022 Xavier Scholars had a chance to get acclimated to Walsh Jesuit this summer! They participated in a camp created to build community, offer academic enrichment and introduce them to Warrior traditions.
CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH June 7, 2018 — Kevin Byrne WJ ’92 will be the next Walsh Jesuit Men’s Warrior Basketball team head coach. Having successfully coached teams at the collegiate level, Byrne hopes to continue being successful for his alma mater.

Senior Richie Kurlich, sophomore Kaden Smesko swim to sectional titles
The Walsh Jesuit men’s swimming team finished third of 14 teams at the OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament held at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium on Saturday, February 10. This is the first qualifying meet on the road to the State Championship Meet to be held in Canton on February 21 through 24.
Senior Richie Kurlich and sophomore Kaden Smesko each notched sectional titles to lead 10 total Warriors into next weekend's District Meet. Kurlich finished first in the 200 yard individual medley (1:53.67) and 100 yard breaststroke (56.88), while Smesko won the 100 yard backstroke (51.77). Kurlich’s time in the breaststroke broke the Walsh school record of 57.35 that was set in 2010. In addition, the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Kurlich, Smesko, Andrew Kurlich and Adam Lenz also set a new Walsh school record of 3:13.25 while finishing second. The old record of 3:13.35 was set in 2009.
The Warrior men’s swimming team once again won the North Coast League Championship Meet to continue its domination of the annual event. Walsh Jesuit won every swimming event contested at the meet, held on February 3 at Gilmour Academy, to outscore runner-up Archbishop Hoban 178-108.
The Warrior women’s swimming team topped nine league rivals to once again win the North Coast League Championship Meet to continue its domination of the annual event. The women outscored runner-up Archbishop Hoban 122-102 to take the title which was held on February 3 at Gilmour Academy
Walsh Jesuit’s Mock Trial team was presented with a case at the start of the school year from the OCLRE organization in Columbus. They were given three months to read, analyze, and formulate arguments for the Prosecution and Defense. The case this year was based on the Serial podcast. Two lawyers, two witnesses, and a bailiff are needed for each side.
