Ed (83') and his wife Kristina reside in Akron and have four boys ages 12 - 19 and one who graduated from Walsh in 2014. Ed is a commercial real estate and finance attorney at Krugliak Wilkins Griffiths & Dougherty LPA, in the firm's downtown Akron office. Ed graduated from Hillsdale College and obtained his JD and MBA from the University of Akron. Ed has been a member of the Board since 2014.
Mark Anzelc is the Global Vice President of Supply Chain for Parker Hannifin’s Motion Systems Group. In this role, he leads a global team of professionals responsible for strategic planning and tactical execution in procurement, planning, logistics, and customer experience. Prior to this, he held executive positions at General Electric, Lucas Industries, and other leading companies. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine. He also holds a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University supplemented by extensive executive development. Mark is active in community service as a volunteer, donor, and board member.
Carol began her career as an advertising/marketing executive with Malone Advertising, Bachmann & Klein Advertising and Louis & Partners Design. She holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Akron. Carol resides in Medina with her husband Mark ’80. They are the proud parents of Joseph ’10, Michael ’12, Jeffrey ’14 and Katie ’19. Carol’s career shifted in 1998 when she chose to stay home and raise her family. Her service at Walsh Jesuit includes co-chairing POWWOW in 2009, serving as WJ’s Mother’s Club President 2012-2014 and co-chairing the year-long celebratory events commemorating Walsh Jesuit’s 50th anniversary. She is also an active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish serving on their stewardship committee. Carol joined the Board in 2015.
Ric is the President and owner of Gill Podiatry Supply Co. He and his wife Karen reside in Hinckley. They are the proud parents of Taylor '14, Brennan '18, and Nathan '21. Ric earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. He is actively involved at St. Albert the Great Parish and school where he currently serves on their Finance Council.
Stacy is a 1977 graduate of Walsh Jesuit. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from The Ohio State University and his MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. Recently retired, Stacy was previously VP of Capital Markets at JP Morgan Chase, CEO of Dormont Manufacturing, SVP of Global Operations at Herbalife International and President of Bacharach, Inc. Stacy resides in Pittsburgh, PA and is active in several charities in the Pittsburgh area. He joined the board in 2014.
Louis, a 1971 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, is the Chief Estimator of Summit Construction. Upon graduating from WJ, Louis studied engineering at the University of Akron where he earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1976. Louis is married to Connie Ciraldo and are the parents of four children - Louis, Mike, Chris and Theresa. Louis is involved with Leadership Akron, the Summa Foundation, the University of Akron engineering program and also volunteers at St. Joseph parish.
Karl is a native Clevelander and is the eleventh President of Walsh Jesuit High School. Prior to his position at Walsh Jesuit, he served as president/principal of Cleveland Central Catholic High School, and he worked for 21 years at St. Ignatius High School in a variety of positions, including teaching, coaching and as an administrator, Vice president for Mission. He earned his B.A. in English from Borromeo College and his M.A. in Religious Studies from John Carroll University, and has done post-graduate work at many of the Jesuit colleges and universities. Karl has a passion for Jesuit education, and speaks often on the topic of the Spiritual Exercises. He is an avid sports fan and loves to bike, coach and officiate.
Joe is President of Action SuperAbrasive Products. He and his wife Dena reside in Stow Ohio, along with their four children. They are active members of Holy Family Parish in Stow. Joe joined the Board in 2013.
New to the Walsh Jesuit Board of Directors (Fall 2016), Nolan brings a robust background to Walsh Jesuit. Nolan has earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law, a MBA from the University of Akron and a B.S. in International Business from Spring Hill College. Nolan is is a member of Immaculate Conception Parish of Akron, is a Greenleaf Family Center Committee Member and is part of the Apostolic Objectives Committee of St. Ignatius High School. Nolan served on the City of Akron Commissioner - Housing Board and the Greenleaf Family Center Board of Directors from 2012-2016. From 2013-2015 Nolan served on the Board of Torchbearers - Leadership Akron Affiliate. Nolan is the Director of Admissions at The University of Akron School of Law. In addition to his duties at The University of Akron and other committee, Nolan is also involved in Keep Akron Beautiful and the Kenmore Neighborhood Alliance Residents of Akron. Nolan and his wife Allison are the parents of Nolan James III.
Mike Khoury joined Detroit Cristo Rey High School in March of 2008 as Director of Administration and Co-Director of its Corporate Work Study program. Mike assumed the responsibilities of school President in January 2009.
Detroit Cristo Rey is a Catholic, co-educational, college prep high school located in Southwest Detroit. They are part of the Cristo Rey Network, which consists of 35 schools across America, which all share the same mission of providing a college prep education to students who could not typically afford to attend a private school. The school had its first graduation in June 2012. For seven years in a row, all of its seniors have been accepted to college.
Mike holds an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Akron University. Prior to joining Detroit Cristo Rey he held various sales and financial positions with Owens Corning, Pilkington and Avery Dennison.
Mike lives in Rochester Hills with his wife, Amy. They have two children, Maria who is heading up the feasibility study for a new Cristo Rey school in San Diego and son Michael Jr. who is a slot machine game mathematician/designer for Everi Holdings.
Christina Lauria a a retired business development executive currently working as an Independent Consultant and Adjunct Professor. Lauria joined Roadway Express in 1983 where she held various analytical positions before being named vice president of pricing administration and yield management and appointed executive officer in 1998. Serving eight years in that role, she became vice president of strategic alliances with responsibility for business strategy, customer alliances and improving portfolio profitability. A year later, she was named vice president of the newly formed Enterprise Solutions Group for YRCW where she was responsible for development of the enterprise concept and client strategy of the multiple brands. Since retirement in 2009, Lauria works as an independent consultant in the logistics and legal fields and serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Akron and Walsh University.
Lauria holds an MBA from Baldwin Wallace University and BS in technical education from the University of Akron. She has completed executive education programs at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, Penn State and the University of California, Los Angeles. Lauria holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.
Christina lives in Hudson with her husband Chas and is the parent of Walsh Jesuit alumni Cara’11 and Alex ’14. She serves on the GAR Foundation Disribution Committee and is the committee chair for Ignatian Identity on the WJHS Board.
Craig is a partner in Stark & Knoll’s Business Services Group. For over 30 years, Craig has represented many Northeast Ohio businesses with growth and acquisition strategies, mergers and acquisitions and day-to-day business and legal counsel to management and owners.
Rev. Bernard McAniff, S.J. is the Assistant Dean of Students at John Carroll University. New to the Walsh Jesuit Board this Fall 2016, Rev. Mc Aniff received his B.A. in English from Nazareth College (Rochester, N.Y.), a M.A. in English from Loyola University Chicago, a Master of Divinity Degree from Weston Jesuit School of Theology and a Masters in Education from Harvard. Since 2014 Rev. McAniff has served on the Board of St. Martin de Porres High School.
Joe is the Executive Director of New School Development for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Joe graduated from the University of Akron with a doctor of education. He and his wife Diane live in the Village of Silver Lake and are the parents of Dan 04, Jackie 07, and Kimmy 10. Joe has been a life-long educator having served as Director of Educational Services, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools in north eastern Ohio communities. Joe also teaches graduate courses in educational leadership and curriculum and instruction for Cleveland State University and John Carroll University. Joe joined the Board in 2015.
Mary resides in Richfield, Ohio and has three children-Kerry, Molly and Matt. Her youngest, Matt, is a 2013 Walsh Jesuit graduate. Mary is a Human Resource executive whose career has spanned the public, private, and consulting industries. For the past 9 years, she has worked at Lorain National Bancorp, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Professional Development, and Security. Mary attended Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and later obtained a MBA. Mary has been involved with a number of charitable endeavors at the grassroots level and joined the Board in 2013.
Julia is the Director of Administration for R&D Exploration, Inc. She graduated with a BA degree in Public Relations and a Minor in Marketing from the University of Dayton. Julia serves as the Executive Director of Reach Ohio, a non-profit that uses media to connect Ohio women facing unplanned pregnancies with life-affirming resources. She and her husband, Steve, reside in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, along with their three children. They are active members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls. She joined the Board in 2013.
Fr. Don Petkash entered the Jesuits in 1958, following graduation from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland. After ordination in 1971, he taught at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School for nine years and at St. Ignatius High School for eleven years. In 1991 he was appointed superior of the Jesuit community at Walsh Jesuit High School and in 1992 was named President of the school. He served in that role until 2003. He later served five years as the Provincial Assistant for Secondary Education in the Detroit Province of the Society of Jesus, before returning to Walsh Jesuit in 2009 to serve as Vice-President for Mission and Identity.
Manu is a proud graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School, The Ohio State University, and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
Manu has practiced Law in Northeast Ohio courts for over 20 years exclusively in the area of domestic relations and family and juvenile law. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan, Lake and Geauga Counties Bar Associations.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Raj is a Family Law Mediator and is trained in both Collaborative Practice and Principled Negotiation methods of alternate dispute resolution. Mr. Raj is a founding member and past President (2004) of The Center for Principled Family Advocacy and a Founder and current member of the Cleveland Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Manu is a Life Member of the Who's Who of Distinguished Lawyers of America, and is regularly selected by his peers as a Super Lawyer of Ohio. In 2011 Manu was identified as an AV "Preeminent" Lawyer through the Peer Review Rating System of Martindale- Hubbell. The "AV Rating" is the highest possible rating used to identify attorneys as to both their legal ability and ethical standards.
Mr. Raj has been an active presenter at seminars on all topics related to domestic relations and juvenile law throughout the country.
Maripat was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and attended Cardinal Mooney High School and the University of Toledo School of Pharmacy.
She has practiced pharmacy in the states of Ohio and California and currently is self-employed as a consultant Pharmacist. Maripat lives in Hudson with her 4 kids, Drew (‘14), Hannah (‘15), Luke (‘19) and Mitchell (‘21).
Jim lives in Richfield with his wife Amy and 3 children Ryan '14, Alex '16, and Olivia. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Exit Planning Advisor. He is the President of the Assurance and Tax Practice group at Meaden & Moore a regional public accounting firm. Jim has over 25 years of public accounting experience with a focus on Closely Held or Family Owned businesses and Private Equity . Jim has served Walsh Jesuit on the Finance Committee since 2014.
Bernadette Salley is beginning her second term as a member of the Walsh Jesuit High School Board of Directors. Bernadette and her husband, John, are the proud parents of Walsh alums Anita ’10 and Jonathan ’15.
Upon the completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education at Hampton Institute, Mrs. Salley attended graduate school at the University of Akron, where she earned a Master of Music degree with Emphasis in Music Education. For many years, Mrs. Salley was a Music Educator in the Akron Public School District.
Mrs. Salley currently serves in Music Ministry at Arlington Church of God, and she is the accompanist for the Walsh Jesuit Chamber Choir and Liturgical Choir. In addition, Mrs. Salley works at The Cleveland School of The Arts.
In the community, she serves as Music Facilitator for Camp Promise (Cleveland Clinic Akron General camp for grieving children). And, she enjoys presenting instrumental music with the trio Grace Notes.
Chris is the Vice President of Kenmore Construction and the President of American Sand and Gravel. He graduated from The University of Akron in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management. He and his wife Denise have two grown children and reside in Canton, Ohio. Chris is actively involved in the Girl Scouts of N.E. Ohio Board. He joined the Walsh Jesuit Board in 2011.
Robb is President and Chief Executive Officer of Freeway Corporation. He graduated from John Carroll University in 1991 where he earned his BSBA in Finance. He and his wife Kristi have two children and reside in Bath, Ohio. He is an active member in St. Hilary Parish. Robb joined the Board of Directors in 2015.
Fr. Paul J. Shelton, SJ has taught Theology and Latin for the past four years at St. Ignatius High School. In addition to teaching, he coaches the cross country team (2015 State Champs) and is the chaplain for the men's basketball ball team (2015-16 Elite Eight). He holds a BA in History and Classics from Marquette University; a MA in Social Philosophy from Loyola Chicago; a MDiv from Boston College; and a STL in moral theology from Boston College. He is currently a student at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve working on a MS in Positive Organization Development and Change. This degree, which he will complete in May 2019, is helping him live out the famous phrase ascribed to the Jesuit saint Alberto Hurtado, "Un Fuego que Enciende Otros Fuegos," A Fire that Kindles Others Fires!
