Women's Basketball Coach Named

Walsh Jesuit High School announces Maggie Ferrando as the women’s head basketball coach.
Most recently, she served as the head varsity basketball coach at St. Joseph Academy High School where she experienced the most coaching wins of 147 in her nine seasons there. Ferrando also coached at North Olmsted High School and Notre Dame College. In addition, Ferrando has extensive experience playing the game as a student athlete when she attended St. Francis College and Notre Dame College.

Walsh Jesuit Athletic Director Mark Hassman states, “We are so fortunate to have Maggie join our community. She has a palpable energy and enthusiasm for the game as well as for the athletes she will coach. We are thrilled to have her on board!”

Ferrando is looking forward to building relationships with the Walsh Jesuit Community. “I am extremely excited to be a Walsh Jesuit Warrior! I am very appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of the rich tradition of academics and athletics at Walsh Jesuit High School. The reputations of both the school and athletic department are sterling. I am very excited to meet the girls, get started, and build on what coach Pete Zaccari has established. I believe that my contributions to Walsh Jesuit will extend beyond the basketball court,” said Ferrando.

Ferrando lives in Fairview Park with her husband Dave, and their four children.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that Pete Zaccari stepped down as head women’s basketball coach after 17 years at Walsh Jesuit.
