Ignatian spirituality is at the core of everything Walsh Jesuit's mission and identity. What is this spirituality and how does one experience it?
For 500 years the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola have inspired countless men and women to a deeper spiritual growth and a more personal relationship with Jesus. The Spiritual Exercises form the cornerstone of Ignatian spirituality.
The Spirituality Program for Adults (SPA) at Walsh Jesuit is pleased to offer an eight-week format of the Spiritual Exercises to its constituencies—current parents, faculty, staff, board of directors, alumni and friends of Walsh Jesuit.
Retreat sessions are held once a week beginning with Mass, followed by instruction and directed small-group work. Each retreatant is asked to spend 30 minutes six days per week doing the following at home:
Read and meditate/contemplate assigned Scripture passages and write your experiences in a notebook.
You are invited to prayerfully consider making a SPA retreat during the upcoming academic year:
Winter/Lent 2016: Tuesday evenings, January 19- March 15, 2016- 7:00 pm until 9:30 pm
Former retreatants have said:
‘This retreat is awesome. My prayer life changed significantly. I moved from knowing God’s presence in my life to a place of sharing and feeling God’s presence in my life.
‘I have learned to follow Jesus more closely and simplify my life.’
‘I have truly fallen in love with Jesus because of this retreat.’
‘The Mass has become more meaningful.’
