Fr. Jim King SJ Campus Ministry Office – Celebrating a Faith that Does Justice
Mr. Tim Dunn, Director of Campus Ministry
Phone: 330.929.4205 Ext. 140
Mr. Dunn is a native of the Cincinnati area and attended St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Little did he know this would be the start of a long journey with the Jesuits. In high school, he participated in Kairos, service trips and competed on several sports teams.
After high school, Mr. Dunn attended John Carroll University. He majored in Religious Studies/Theology and participated heavily in all that Campus Ministry had to offer. Through these experiences, Mr. Dunn started to gather a true love for Ignatian Spirituality. He stayed at JCU to complete a master’s degree, serving as a graduate assistant in the Religious Studies Department. In addition to this, Mr. Dunn worked for the Offices of Campus Ministry and Residence Life as a Resident Minister.
For the next six years, he worked at Xavier University in the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice. His primary responsibilities were retreats and small faith sharing groups, but he also gained experience coordinating liturgy and provided spiritual direction and pastoral presence to many students.
Mr. Dunn started at Walsh Jesuit High School in 2014 and is excited to help students grow as they deepen their relationships with themselves, God and others. At home Mr. Dunn loves to spend time with his wife, Haley, and son, Connor. They enjoy playing guitar and singing, taking walks and playing outside. Additionally, he is an avid sports fan—especially Cincinnati Reds Baseball & Notre Dame Football.
Ms. Lauren Fraser, Campus Minister
Phone: 330.929.4205, ext. 116
Miss Fraser's love of the Jesuits began her freshmen year of college at John Carroll University, when learning about their commitment to the poor an vulnerable, especially of the Salvadoran martyrs, the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises captured her heart. She participated in the inaugural year of the St. Benedict Joseph Labre Project at JCU, immersed herself in Cleveland, Ohio; Immokalee, Florida; Duran, Ecuador; Nazareth Farm in West Virginia; and Managua, Nicaragua, shared in a Christian Life Community, and partook in every retreat experience possible. With her BS in psychology, a commitment to the poor and desire for a faith that does justice, Miss Fraser committed to a year with Jesuit Volunteer Corps where she spent time teaching GED classes to former prisoners, as well as working with graced kids in the foster care system. She then returned to work as a Resident Minister at John Carroll before pursuing her MA in Pastoral Ministry at the University of Dayton where she also worked in Residence Life Ministry.
Miss Fraser spends most of her time organizing the Immersion Experience Program, facilitating Walsh Jesuit's community practice of the Daily Examen, and empowering students in Social Justice initiatives working alongside the Ignatian Solidarity Network. She most enjoys conversations with students about what their hopes and dreams are and how to utilize their gifts and talents.
She loves her hometown Cleveland, and can often be found frequenting the local fair trade coffee shops, exploring hidden gems, local businesses, and art museum. In her spare time, Miss Fraser loves painting, lettering, reading, yoga, and cooking with vegetables from the local farmers' market.
Mr. Michael Palange, Campus Minister
Phone: 330.929.4205 ext. 113
Mr. Palange started his journey with the Jesuits during his freshman year of high school and has not been able to break away since. Having attended a Jesuit High School and Jesuit University, he has been in the shoes of many of our students, growing within the mission of the school. Throughout his time as a student at both Jesuit institutions, Mr. Palange found himself at home in Campus Ministry. Through retreat experiences and stepping out of his comfort zone through service with the poor and marginalized, he fell in love with the Jesuit ideals. Mr. Palange graduated from John Carroll University and is now attending Baldwin Wallace University, pursuing a Master's degree in Education with a focus on School Leadership.
Mr. Palange spends his time organizing the Walsh Jesuit retreat programs, overseeing the Christian Service program, and coordinating the Alumni Discernment and Volunteer Program (among other things). What Mr. Palange loves most about his job is the ability to empower student leaders.
Outside of school, Mr. Palange is a sports fanatic and loves the Browns, Cavs, Indians and Oklahoma Sooners. Mr. Palange also loves spending time with family, golfing, fishing and simply being outdoors.
