Walsh Jesuit's 44th annual POWWOW was held April 23, 2016 and was attended by over 700 guests and volunteers. A Walk in the Garden...Planting Seeds of Growth for Future Warriors, was a spectacular evening filled with gardens, friends, fine food and plenty of fundraising!
This year's event grossed over $560,000 for Walsh Jesuit's Warrior Fund. With out your support, this would not be possible. This year's garden themed event gave us the opportunity to work with some amazing landscape companies and garden centers. Grace Brothers Landscaping, Gale's Garden Center,Suncrest Gardens and Petitti's helped transform the school into a lush spring garden. Additionally, Pat Catan's once again provided us with materials to transform our commons and dome with jaw dropping decor.
Thanks to Western Reserve Hospital, we had a fun filled preview night party, attended by several hundred guests who enjoyed a basket raffle and fireworks. We also introduced a new event at our preview night, a craft cocktail and cigar tent sponsored by Testa Companies. David Sharp ‘90 made signature cocktails while guests had the opportunity to sample cigars from Havana House.
A highlight of this year's event was our Ignatian Fund speaker, Miss Halle Randall '13. Halle spoke on behalf of all students who receive aid from Walsh Jesuit donors, and was a beautiful reminder of how your donation makes a direct impact on our students on a daily basis. Halle said "Not only did Walsh Jesuit prepare me for college academically, but spiritually it helped me discover my love for service and helping others. It helped me discover my passions, and presented me with countless opportunities."
Thank you to all our sponsors, guests, volunteers and students who made POWWOW 2016 a wonderful success! You are all truly Men and Women for Others.
