The CenterStage Theater Department at Walsh Jesuit High School presents its Spring musical production of “Les Miserables, School Edition,” March 7, and 14 at 7:00PM, March 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 7:30PM, March 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 2:00PM, in the Walsh Jesuit High School Theater, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, in Cuyahoga Falls. There will be two preview performances on March 5th, and 6th at 7:00PM and a special Student Price Performance March 13 at 7:00PM. SIX DOLLAR TICKETS FOR THE PREVIEW NIGHT PERFORMANCES WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR on the day of the performance. Tickets purchased online will be held for the purchaser to pick up at the ticket table. They will not be mailed.
The musical has been one of the all-time biggest hits on Broadway and the unforgettable characters bring its powerful message of redemption to the stage with this all sung, award winning show production. It was written by Alain Boublil, and Claude-Michel Schonberg, and was based upon the novel by Victor Hugo. The music is by Claude-Michel Schonberg with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer. The show is put on through the cooperation of Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh. “Les Miserables” is also experiencing a huge rebirth as a major motion picture starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway, and there is also a national tour of the Broadway show currently running. Director David Banks says, “This is probably the most intense production we have put on at CenterStage as well as one of the largest! We have custom made costumes, sets and special effects, a professional live orchestra, 25 member crew, and a 55 member cast all teaming together to make for an unforgettable theatrical experience.”
Cast as Jean Valjean is Tim Tell of Akron. The role of Javert is performed by Cameron Cabot from Northfield. Kyle Glascott of Hudson plays Marius, and Cosette is played by Savahanna Byczek from Brunswick. Eponine will be portrayed by Maggie Bolas from Akron,while the role of Fantine is played by Melissa Mossing and Pallavi Sharma, both from Strongsville. Thenardier is played by Nick Bury of Stow and Allison Matia from Medina plays Madame Thenardier. Young Cosette is played by Kiara Durbin from Twinsburg and Ellie Finkenthal from Hudson, while Snezana Jelic from Brookefield and Elise Pakiela of Macedonia plays Young Eponine. The role of Enjolras is performed by Steven Curtis of Medina and Nathan Blasio of Sagamore Hills performs Grantaire. Gavroche will be performed by J.R. Heckman of Solon and Ian Stewart of Brecksville.
Rounding out the cast will be Kate Gray, Jacob Morris, Owen Salyers, and Chris Sivak from Akron, Emily Payne, Catherine Ward, and Clayton Webb from Brecksville, Nicole Davessar and Libby Bauman from Broadview Heights, Mary T. There will be a special student night on Wednesday, March 13. Any student can get in on the 13th for just $6.00. Senior Citizens and pre-school kids can take in a special priced $6.00 ticket for the matinee showing on March 9 and 10 at 2:00pm.
