Taylor Rahach pitched a 5 inning perfect game for her 14th win. She struck out 11 of 15 batters faced.

In the bottom of the first inning Lilli Piper reached first base on a throwing error, advanced to second on Jackie Ammar's sacrifice bunt and then scored on Taylor Stimson's double.

Lauren Cianciolo led off the second inning with her team leading 9th double of the season and was driven in on Sophia Simone's double. Rahach then singled scoring Simone. Piper hit a sacrifice fly to center field allowing courtesy runner for Rahach McKenzie Gerry to score the third run of the inning. With one on and 2 outs, Riley Ries hit her fourth home run of the season adding 2 more runs. 6-0 Warriors

In the third with two outs Piper again reached on a throwing error and was driven in by a double from Ammar. Stimson singled to score Ammar followed by Ries' second home run of the game scoring two more. 10-0 WJ

Bottom of the fourth, again with two outs, Piper singled, Ammar singled, then both runners moved up on a wild pitch. Kelly Wilson, pinch hitting for Rahach, reached first base on a fielding error allowing Piper to score. Ries singled to drive in Ammar. Lexi Noonan doubled to score Wilson.

In the top of the first inning Lilli Piper led off with a single, stole second and was driven in by Riley Ries' rbi single.

In the third inning Jackie Ammar leads off with a walk. Ries gets her second single of the of the game putting runners on first and second. With one out Cori Anter reaches on a fielder's choice as Ammar is forced out attempting to advance to third. With two outs Lauren Cianciolo walks. Sophia Simone reaches on a Hornets fielding error allowing Ries and Anter to score.

In the bottom of the fourth the Hornets score a run.

In the sixth Taylor Rahach reaches on a throwing error followed by a single from Kelly Wilson. Piper then singles driving in Rahach. Piper moves to second with no throw and on to third on a wild pitch. Ammar scores Piper with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Warriors 5 Hornets 1

The Hornets scored 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh on a lead off single and two Warrior errors.

Final score: Walsh 5 Highland 4

Rahach picked up her 13th win pitching 5 strong innings giving up one run while striking out 13 Hornet batters.

Kayla Navratil came in to relieve Rahach in the top of the sixth allowing three unearned runs and striking out three.

Game 22

Warren Howland vs Walsh Jesuit

In the bottom of the first Lilli Piper led off with a single to center field. With one out Taylor Stimson singled to center followed by a 3 run home run from Riley Ries. After the second out, Cori Anter tripled to deep right field and was driven in by Lauren Ciancioo's rbi single. Sophia Simone doubled to center field scoring Cianciolo. 5-1 Warriors

Howland scored two in the top of the second making it 5-3 Walsh.

Piper led off the bottom of the second with a triple. Jackie Ammar scored Piper with a sacrifice fly. Stimson singled followed by Ries' single. Stimson was out trying to score. Lexi Noonan singled to load the basses. Anter singled to drive in Ries and Noonan.

Howland scored one in the top of the third.

The Warriors scored 3 more in the bottom of the third with 2 outs.Piper reached on a fielder's choice. Ammar reached on a fielding error followed by a 2 run double by Stimson. Ries singled driving in Stimson. 11-4 Warriors.

The bottom of the fourth Anter and Cianciolo reached on Howland errors. Kelly Wilson's fielder's choice drove in Anter. Piper grounded out scoring Cianciolo.

In the fifth inning with two outs Noonan doubled to left center and was driven in by Anter's game winning rbi single to end the game due to the 10 run rule.

Kayla Navratil picked up her 6th win of the season with no losses.

Game 21
5-7-2013 Walsh @ Mentor Lake Catholic

Trailng three to nothing going into the top of the seventh inning Lauren Cianciolo led off with a single. Sophia Simone reached on an error followed by a single from Kelly Wilson to load the bases with no one out. Lilli Piper singled scoring Cianciolo and Simone. A sacrifice bunt by Jackie Ammar moved runners to second and third. After the second out a Cougar error allowed Wilson and Piper to score. 4-3 Warriors!

The bottom of the seventh saw Lake Catholic score 3 runs for the win on 2 singles followed by a one out three run home run to end the game.

Final score Lake Catholic 6 Walsh 4.

Taylor Rahach struck out 11 batters.

 

Game 20 - May 6 2013

Lilli Piper led off the first inning with a single to center field, then moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on Taylor Stimson's rbi single.

After two outs in the bottom of the third Stimson singled, moved up on a wild pitch and was driven in on Riley Ries' single. Lexi Noonan walked and stole second. Cori Anter drove in Ries and Noonan with a triple to deep right field.
4-0 Warriors.

The Cougars scored a run in the top of the fifth to make the score 4-1. The Warriors answered with Ries scoring after reaching on a fielder's choice when Noonan was safe at first on a fielding error.

Sophia Simone led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run, her first of the year.
After one out Piper singled and moved to second on a ground out, stole third and scored on a throwing error. Stimson triple for her fourth hit of the game and was driven in by another single from Ries.

It got kind of ugly in the top of the seventh when Lake Catholic tied the score at 8-8 with seven runs.

In the bottom of the eighth with one out Piper laid down a bunt single and moved to second on Jackie Ammar's fielder's choice. Stimson then singled to left for the game winning rbi and her fifth hit of the game.

Taylor Rahach struck out 13 Cougars while picking up her 12th win of the season.

 

Game 19

With one out in the second inning Cori Anter went all the way to second on a Bees' error.  Lauren Cianciolo doubled to deep left field to score Anter. 

Lilli Piper led off the third with a double to center field and scored on Jackie Ammar's rbi single.  Taylor Stimson tripled to drive in Ammar and then scored on a Riley Ries rbi single to right field.

In the bottom of  the fourth inning Kelly Wilson tripled to deep right field and scored on Sophia Simone's ground out. Piper singled and moved to second on a fielding error and scored on another rbi single from Ammar.  6-2 Warriors.

Ries led off the fifth inning with a single to center field.  Lexi Noonan reached on a throwing error.  Anter then hit a three run home run, ( her 5th of the season), to make the score 9-2 WJ.

With one out in the sixth inning Ammar reached on fielding error and scored on Stimson's single to center.  Final score, 10-3 Warriors.

Kayla Navratil got her fifth win of the season with no losses, pitching 4 innings, allowing only one earned run.

Game 18

In the bottom of the first inning Lilli Piper reached first base on an error, moved to second on a wild pitch.  With two outs Riley Ries reached first on another error moving Piper to third.  Another wild pitch allowed Piper to score for a 1-0 lead.

The bottom of the third saw Jackie Ammar lead off with a double to center, move to third on a wild pitch and score on a throwing error. Taylor Stimson walked and then scored on Lexi Noonan's fielder's choice.  With two outs Lauren Cianciolo tripled to deep right field scoring Noonan.
4-0 Warriors.

In the bottom of the fourth Sophia Simone singled, moved to second on a wild pitch. Piper the singled putting runners at first and third. Piper then moved to second with no throw.  Ammar singled driving in Simone and Piper.  Ries doubled to deep left field and was driven in by Noonan's rbi single making the score 7-0.

Cori Anter reached on an error to open the bottom of the fifth inning.  Cianciolo singled for her third hit of the game.  Both runners advanced on a wild pitch.  Kelly Wilson walked to load the bases.  Simone grounded out scoring Anter.  Piper singled to drive in Cianciolo and Wilson to end the game after 5 innings due to the 10 run rule.

Taylor Rahach pitched a 2 hit shutout for her 11th victory of the season.

Game 17

Walsh at NDCL

The Warriors wasted no time getting a good start in this game.

Lilli Piper led off the first inning with a double to center field and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jackie Ammar.  Taylor Stimson singled to right field scoring Piper.  After two were out Lexi Noonan singled to put runners at first and third.  Cori Anter hit a one strike pitch to deep right center field making it a 4-0 score after 1/2 inning.

In the second Sophia Simone led off with a bloop single into short left center. Piper then sacrified the runner to second.  Ammar hit into a fielder's choice moving Simone to third.
Stimson hit a sacrifice fly to score Simone.  5-0 Warriors.

In the fourth Piper walked, moved to second on a ground out.  With two outs Riley Ries singled to score Piper.

In the sixth inning with two outs Piper singled followed by a walk to Ammar.  Stimson then tripled to deep right scoring Piper and Ammar making 8-0 Walsh.

The NDCL Lions scored three in the bottom of the sixth and one more in the bottom of the seventh.

Taylor Rahach pitching a complete game picked up her tenth win of the season.

Game 16
Prebis Memorial Classic, Lagrange Ohio

Walsh:  4 runs  11 hits  0 errors
Strasburg:  1 run  2 hits  0 errors


In the top of the first Lilli Piper led off with a single to right field, was sacrificed to second by Jackie Ammar and scored on Riley Ries's single to right field.

No more scoring until the top of the fifth inning when with one out Kelly Wilson reached first on a bunt single followed by Piper's bunt single. Taylor Stimson singled to score Wilson and Ries doubled to score Piper and Stimson.

Strasburg scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final score 4-1 Warriors.

Taylor Rahach notched her ninth win of the season with a 1 run 2 hit complete game striking out 9 Strasburg batters.

 

Game 15
Prebis Memorial Classic, Lagrange Ohio

Walsh:  12 runs  15 hits  2 errors
Mathews:  2 runs  4 hits  3 errors

The Warriors got off to a quick start in the bottom of the first inning by scoring 7 runs.
Lilli Piper led off with a single followed by a bunt single from Jackie Ammar.  Taylor Stimson reached base on an error followed by Riley Ries also reaching on an error allowing Piper to score. Lexi Noonan walked to score Ammar  . Sophia Simone singled to score Stimson. Lauren Cianciolo reached on a fielder's choice scoring Noonan as Ries was thrown out trying to score.  After two outs Kelly Wilson singled to score Simone and Cianciolo.  Piper doubled in her second at bat of the inning scoring Wilson.
Warriors 7-0.

In the third inning Jessica Harbaugh led off with a single followed by Wilson reaching on an error.  Piper singled scoring Harbaugh and Wilson.  Ammar got her second single of the game scoring Piper.  10-0 Walsh.

The fourth inning saw 2 more Warriors cross the plate as Harbaugh got her second single of the game and was driven in by Piper's second double.  Ammar then got her third single scoring Piper.  12-0

In the bottom of the fifth Mathews scored 2 runs and the game was over in 5 innings due to the 10 run rule.

Taylor Rahach started the game pitching to perfect innings striking out all six batters she faced.  Lexi Noonan came in to pitch in the bottom of the third allowing 2 unearned runs in her first pitching assignment of the season.

 

Game 14
Prebis Memorial Classic,Lagrange Ohio

Walsh: 1 run 1 hit  2 errors
Elyria:  4 runs  5 hits  2 errors

In the bottom of the first inning Lilli Piper with a two strike count blasted the next pitch over the center field fence. It was the only hit the Warriors could muster in this game. 

Elyria tied the score in the top of the fourth.

In the top of the sixth Elyria scored 3 more runs to make the final score 4-1 Elyria.

 

Game 13 
Walsh: 23 runs 22 hits 2 errors
Padua: 9 runs 11 hits 4 errors

With 2 outs in the top of the first inning the Warriors scored six times on six hits. Taylor Stimson singled, stole second and scored on Riley Ries" double. Lexi Noonan reached on an error followed by a double from Cori Anter driving in Ries and Noonan. Sophia Simone singled to score Anter. Kelly Wilson reached base on a bunt single, advanced to second without a throw. Lauren Cianciolo doubled to drive in Simone and Wilson.

Three more runners crossed the plate in the second inning on Jackie Ammar's single, Stimson hit by a pitch, a walk to Ries and a double by Noonan.

In the top of the third Cianciolo blasted her first home run over the left field fence. Lilli Piper singled, Jackie Ammar walked, Stimson singled to load the bases. Ries grounded out scoring Piper. Noonan drove in Ammar and Stimson with her second double of the game making it 13-0.

Padua scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third,

Ries walked to open the fifth inning. After advancing to third on two groundouts Simone singled to score Ries.

In the bottom of the fifth trailing 14-1 Padua made a strong comeback scoring six runs on five hits and a walk making it 14-7.

Piper doubled with one out to start the sixth. After the second out Stimson singled to score Piper.

Padua scored there final two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Jessica Harbaugh walked to lead off the seventh inning. Simone reached on an error. A wild pitch allowed Harbaugh and Simone to score. With no outs Wilson reached on an error, Cianciolo walked to put runners on first and second. After one out Ammar singled for the third time driving in Wilson. Ries singled to score Cianciolo. With the bases loaded and two outs Anter pinch hitting for Harbaugh drove the first pitch over the center field fence for a grand slam home run to end the Warriors scoring.
Kayla Navratil got her fourth win of the season pitching a complete game.

 

Game 12

Walsh: 12 runs 14 hits 2 errors
Padua: 1 run 4 hits 0 errors

In the bottom of the first inning Jackie Ammar led off with a single to left field. After one out Riley Ries singled to center. After a ground out moved the runners to second and third Cori Anter single to center scoring Ammar and Ries.

The Warriors added two more runs in the second with one out when Lauren Cianciolo singled to right field, and moved to second with a stolen base. Kayla Navratil's single to center put runners on first and third. Navratil moved to second with no throw. A wild pitch allowed Cianciolo to score and move Navratil to third. Taylor Stimson grounded out to score Navratil.

In the top of the third Padua scored their lone run on a two out single, an error and a wild pitch.

The bottom of third began with a walk to Lexi Noonan. Anter got her second single of the game followed by a walk to Sophia Simone to load the bases. After an infield pop up for the first out of the inning Cianciolo double to deep center clearing the bases. Navratil again singled scoring Cianciolo to cap off a four run inning making the score 8-1.

Four more runs scored in the bottom of the fourth. Riley Ries led off with a triple followed by a walk to Noonan. Anter's third hit of the game scored Ries. With one out, Kelly Wilson singled to left center driving in Noonan and Anter. After the second out Jackie Ammar singled to center to score Wilson.

Kayla Navratil earned her third win of the season with no losses, giving up one unearned run while striking out 9 Padua batters.

 

Game 11

Walsh:  3 runs  5 hits  0 errors
Heath:  0 runs  2 hits  3 errors

In the bottom of the first with 2 outs, Taylor Stimson singled, stole second, moved to third on a throwing error after Riley Ries singled to center.  Stimson scored on a wild pitch to give the Warriors  1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth with 2 outs, Ries reached on an error allowing her to move to third.   Lexi Noonan singled to short right field holding the Ries at third.  Noonan moved to second base with no throw from the Heath catcher.  Cori Anter singled to right driving in Ries and Noonan to end the scoring.

Taylor Rahach pitched a complete game 2 hit shut out while striking out 10 Heath batters.
Rahach is now 7 and 2 for the season.

 

Game 10

Midview 3 runs  3 hits  1 error

Midview opened the scoring with 2 runs the bottom of the fourth inning off starting pitcher Kayla Navratil.  Taylor Rahach came in to pitch in relief in the bottom of the fourth.

The Warriors tied the score at 2 in the top of the fifth.  Kelly Wilson led off with a bunt single down the third base line followed by Jessica Harbaugh's single to right.  Wilson then stole third.  After two outs, Taylor Stimson singled to left scoring Wilson and Harbaugh.

Due to the time limit the sixth inning was played as a tie breaker.
Stimson was placed at second base.  Cori Anter moved her to second with a sacrifice bunt.  Sophia Simone singled to score Stimson then moved to third on a Midview throwing error.  Wilson then executed a squeeze bunt to score Simone.

Midview scored one in the bottom of the sixth giving Walsh the win.

Rahach picked up the win for her sixth of the season.

 

Game 9 
Grove City: 10 runs  6 hits  3 errors
Walsh:   0 runs  3 hits  4 errors

The visiting Warrior bats were quiet in this 10-0 loss to Grove City managing only 3 scattered singles in the 5 inning game.
Grove City scored 2 in the first, 1 in the third and 7 in the fourth.

Game 8  St. V-M @ Walsh

St. V-M  0 runs  2 hits  2 errors

No score until the bottom of the third inning.  Lauren Cianciolo led off with a double to center field followed by a single from Taylor Rahach.  Lilli Piper scored Cianciolo with a sacrifice fly.  Jackie Ammar hit a double to left scoring Rahach.  Taylor Stimson singled to score Ammar.

In the sixth inning Ammar reached second on a fielding  error then  scored  on two wild pitches.  Riley Ries and Lexi Noonan both walked.  Cori Anter singled to drive in Ries.

Taylor Rahach pitched a two hit shutout striking out 14 Irish batters for her fifth win.

 

Game 7  4-16-2013

In the bottom of the  first inning Hoban scored 4 runs on 2 hits 3 walks and a hit batter off starter Taylor Rahach.  Kayla Navratil then came in to pitch in relief and got the third out of the inning.

In the top of the second the Warriors led off with a solo home run from Riley Ries.  Lexi Noonan then singled followed by Cori Anter's single.  Lauren Cianciolo laid down a sacrifice bunt moving Noonan and Anter to second and third.  Kelly Wilson singled to left scoring Noonan and Anter to close the gap to 4-3 Hoban.

In the third Lilli Piper walked, stole second and was driven in by Jackie Ammar's single to center field.  Tied 4-4.

Anter led off with a single to start the fourth.  Cianciolo singled putting runners on first and second with no outs.  Navratil moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt.  Wilson then put down a squeeze bunt to score Anter giving the Warriors a 5-4 lead.

With one out in the fifth Taylor Stimson walked and stole second.  Ries singled to score Stimson.  Noonan homered to score Ries and herself making it 8-4 Warriors.

Wilson walked to start the sixth followed by Piper's single.  Ammar hit a fielder's choice allowing Wilson  to score on a Hoban throwing error.  Ries walked followed by Anter's three run home run. That ended a run of 13 unanswered runs by the Warriors.

Kayla Navratil on her 18th birthday pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up no runs and 2 hits to notch her second win of the season.

April 15 2013 at Walsh Jesuit

In the bottom of the 4th inning Lauren Cianciolo led off with a single to left field.  Kelly 
Wilson sacrificed Cianciolo to second followed by Jackie Ammar's single to center.  A fielding error on Ammar's hit allowed Cianciolo to score.

In the top of the 5th Hoban scored an unearned run due to a fielding error and a single by Hoban pitcher Kate Boylan to tie the score at one.

The 6th inning saw the Knights score 3 runs on 5 hits to take the lead 4-1.  Kayla Navratil came in to get the third out in relief of starting pitcher Taylor Rahach.  Rahach fell to 4-1 with her first loss of the season.

In the 7th the Warriors scored 1 run with 2 outs on a double by Cori Anter followed by an rbi double by Sophia Simone.

Walsh is now 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the NCL.

Game 5 Walsh at Beaumont

Riley Ries led of the second inning with a double.  Sophia Simone hit a sac fly to score Ries.

In the top of the third Kelly Wilson walked.  Lilli Piper reached on an error followed by Stimson's single scoring Wilson and Piper.  Ries singled followed by Lexi Noonan's single scoring Stimson. With two outs Lauren Cianciolo singled to score Ries and Noonan.

 Ries led off the fifth with an inside the park home run. (300' fence) Noonan walked and scored on Cianciolo's bloop single.

Taylor Rahach notched her fourth win of the season pitching 5 innings giving up 1 hit while striking out 8 batters.

Kayla Navratil closed out the game pitching 2 innings of no hit ball and striking out 2 batters.

Game 4

Walsh vs Beaumont played at WJ.

The Warriors scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning when Lexi Noonan led off with a single to right followed by a walk for Cori Anter.  Both runners moved up a base on a passed ball.  Kelly Wilson executed a squeeze bunt scoring Noonan.

In the third Jackie Ammar reached on a fielder's choice. Taylor Stimson singled to right, then both runners advanced on a passed ball.  Riley Ries grounded out to second scoring Stimson.  Noonan singled to score Ries.  Anter then doubled but was left stranded.

In the fifth inning Stimson drove the first pitch over the fence for her first home run of the season to make it 4-0 WJ.

In the sixth  with two outs, Taylor Rahach doubled to center followed by Lilli Piper's rbi single. Jackie Ammar doubled to score Piper to cap off the scoring.

Rahach pitched a complete game giving up one unearned run on 2 hits while striking out 13 batters improving her record to 3-0 on the season.

In the top of the first inning after one out Jackie Ammar walked followed by a two run home run by Taylor Stimson. 

With 2 outs in the second Taylor Rahach  reached base with a single followed by Lilli Piper's single. A fielding error allowed Rahach to score.

The third inning saw 7 Warriors cross the plate. Singles by Lexi Noonan, Sophia Simone, Lauren Cianciolo, Rahach, Ammar and a double from Simone accounted for the scoring.

In the fifth Rahach led off with a walk followed by Piper's single. Ammar was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Riley Ries then walked to score Rahach. Jessica Harbaugh hit a sac fly to right field scoring Piper. Cori Anter then hit a three run home run off the right fielder's outstretched glove to end the scoring.

Taylor Rahach notched her second win of the season giving up one single while striking out 11 of the 15 batters she faced.

Game 2

In the top of the second Goshen scored their lone run on a single followed by a walk and a fielding error.

In the bottom of the second inning Riley Ries led off with a double followed by a single from Lexi Noonan who then moved to second on a fielding error.  Ries scored on the play.  Cori Anter reached first base on throwing error that allowed Noonan to score.  After one out  Lauren Cianciolo singled scoring Anter and moved to second on the throw. Kelly Wilson reached on an error allowing Cianciolo to score.  Wilson scored on a sacrifice fly by Lilli Piper to make it 5-1 Warriors.

In the third WJ scored 10 runs on 6 hits including a double from Ries and a double from Noonan, and singles by Sophia Simone (2), Piper, and Taylor Stimson.  Cianciolo had a sac fly to score Simone.

Five more runs were added in the fourth inning.  Wilson reached on an error to start the inning followed by a single by Piper, a fielder's choice for Jackie Ammar, a sac fly for Stimson, a single by Ries and a double by Simone to end the game due to the ten run rule after 5 innings.  Kayla Navratil got her first win of the season pitching the complete game allowing just on unearned run on 2 hits, striking out four and walking one.

 





2012 Recaps

May 19th, 2012

Woodridge jumped out in front with one run in the first and four in the second to take a 5-0 lead.

In the top of the third Lauren Hurley blooped a double into short left field. With one out Lilli Piper who was four for five with two intentional walks doubled to deep left field scoring Hurley to cut the lead to 5-1.

In the top of the fourth the Warriors tied the game at 5 after Riley Ries led off with single followed by Cori Anter's single.  Maddie Sheppard then doubled scoring Ries.  Anter then scored on a fielding error in Lexi Noonan's at bat that moved Sheppard to third who then scored on a wild pitch.  Hurley then singled driving in Noonan.

The Bulldogs came right back in the bottom half scoring 2 runs to again take the lead.

In the top of the fifth the Warriors again tied the game.  With 2 outs Anter was hit by a pitch, Sheppard singled followed by Noonan's 2 rbi double.

Taylor Rahach entered the game in relief of Katarina Davis and pitched seven no hit innings, striking out 9 batters.

In the bottom of the 12th inning with 1out the Bulldogs lead off batter went all the way to third on a Warrior fielding error. She then scored on a squeeze bunt to end the most exciting game of the season. 

The Warriors finish the season with a 19 and 9 record.

Lilli Piper added four more hits to her all time single season record (previously held by Kaleigh Cupka in 2009 in her sophomore year) that now stands at 48.

May 17th, 2012: Akron Division II District Semi-Final

Tallmadge scored the first run of the game in the third inning on one hit and two errors.

The Warriors tied the game in the bottom of the fourth after Lauren Hurley walked, stole second and scored on Lilli Piper's dropped fly ball to right field on an intentional walk attempt.

In the fifth inning with one out, Riley Ries singled, followed by Cori Anter's single putting runners at first and second.  Maddie Sheppard then hit into a fielder's choice scoring Ries to take the lead 2-1.  Courtney Iacobacci then singled driving in Anter and Sheppard.
Katarina Davis then shut out the Blue Devils over the last two innings to pick up her 10th win of the season.

**Side note: Lilli Piper broke the all-time single season record  for hits (#44) at Walsh set by Kaleigh Cupka (43) in the 2009 season.
