Mr. John Norris, a WJ graduate in the class of 1996, began teaching at Walsh Jesuit in 2001. He received a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in History, both from Kent State University. Currently, Mr. Norris teaches AP U.S. Government & Politics and United States History. He also serves as the Men’s Varsity Basketball coach, Assistant Athletic Director, and Vice-President of the Faculty Association at Walsh Jesuit.
Mr. Richard Sistek

Mr. Sistek began teaching at Walsh Jesuit in 1985. He is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy (B.A. and M.A. in British History) and the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley, California (M.Div.). He is teaching AP U.S. Government & Politics and Global Studies along with the task of running the Senior Experience Program.
Mrs. Elizabeth Barker

Mrs. Barker has been teaching at WJ since 2008. She previously taught at Baldwin-Wallace College and East Carolina University. She earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from Baldwin-Wallace and a M.A. in Anthropology from East Carolina University. While at WJ, Mrs. Barker teaches Global Studies, Modern World History, U.S. History, and Anthropology. Mrs. Barker and her husband Jeremy have two children, Seth and Micah.
Mr. Walter Dodds

Mr. Dodds began teaching at Walsh Jesuit in 2005. Previously, Mr. Dodds taught four years at Benedictine High School in Cleveland. He holds a B.A. in history and Education and an M.A. in School Leadership both from Baldwin Wallace College. He teaches three sections of United States history and two sections of Psychology. Mr. Dodds is the moderator of student government, the advisor for the yearbook, and the head coach of the men’s and women’s bowling teams. Mr. Dodds and his wife Erin have three sons and they are members of St. Ambrose parish.

Miss Hudec, an alum from the Class of 2002, began teaching at WJ in 2006. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Social Studies Education from The University of Dayton. She earned her Master’s degree in Education Administration from John Carroll University. Miss Hudec teaches the AP Macroeconomics to upper classmen. In addition to her teaching duties, she is the women’s varsity Lacrosse coach and the Associate Dean of Students at Walsh Jesuit.

Mrs. Lynn Humiston has been at Walsh since 2007, after teaching Social Studies for 6 ½ years at Stow High School. She holds a B.A. in History from Boston College University and a M.A. in Education from the University of Akron. Mrs. Humiston teaches freshmen Honors Global Studies and sophomore Modern World History while also acting as the Freshman Student Government Moderator.
Mr. Roland Karthan

Mr. Karthan began teaching at WJ in 1982. He has a B.A. in German and Political Science from John Carroll University, a M.A.T. in German from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and an M.Ed. in Secondary School Administration from John Carroll University. He currently teaches American Government to senior level students.
Mr. Andrew Kerr, ‘02

Andrew joined the WJ faculty in 2010 as a part-time member of the Social Studies department. He has since moved to full time and teaches Global Studies with freshmen and Modern World History to sophomores, as well as two junior\senior electives; Philosophy and Geography. Andrew is also an active participant in Campus Ministry programs, such as Kairos retreats and service\immersion experiences. He earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Education with a minor in Philosophy from John Carroll University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Classroom Guidance at The University of Akron.

Dana joins the WJ faculty in 2015 after the last few years as a teacher at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. She will be teaching United States History and Global Studies. Dana earned a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in History from the University of Dayton in 2012. Dana carries her Integrated Social Studies license for grades 7-12 and has participated in multiple professional groups in the discipline of History. The WJ Social Studies department is excited to welcome Ms. Chiuchiarelli to the staff.
Dr. Douglas Worthington

Dr. Worthington began teaching at WJ in 1980. He has a B.A. in History from Mount Union College and an M.A. and PhD. in History from the University of Akron. He teaches AP U.S. History and AP Modern European History. He and his wife, Robin ( a kindergarten teacher in the Cuyahoga Falls Public School District) have three children: Kristin (’98), Rebecca (’02), and Andrew (’06).
